You have heard of the elevator pitch, right? You have to explain your idea, product, or business in about 30-60 seconds. If it’s too complex and doesn’t meet the time standard, chances are you don’t know what you’re doing and it’s not going to win many people over. If it’s short, sharp, to the point, and easy to understand, you’re in with a shot. But what about a train ride pitch? You’re sitting on the subway on your way to the office and you happen to meet a well-dressed sir or madam, who asks you what you do. How will you respond? Now that you have a few minutes to explain what you do, why not just show them what you do? You can and should always rely on your words because human contact will always win above everything else. Here’s a secret about investors. They do not invest in businesses, they invest in people.
